Dots” Vercellone is a professional clown, educator, and founder of The Smile Factory Theater Co. in New Bedford who has spent nearly 40 years bringing joy, humor, and compassion to communities through performances, hospital visits, teaching, and charitable work. Named “Clown of the Year” in 2018, she continues to train caring clowns through her hospital clown school, using laughter and storytelling to comfort and connect with others.

Hartman Deetz is a Mashpee Wampanoag artist, cultural steward, writer, educator, and founder of Ockway Bay Wampum. His practice centers on traditional Wampanoag arts, especially wampum made from quahog clam shells, while also extending into wood carving, stone carving, copper work, feather work, antler, bone, painting, and linocut. He has spent decades studying and preserving Indigenous material traditions, learning from family members, tribal elders, and Native artists.
