Miriam Towle-Lopes (Mim)
Miriam began her study of oil painting after relocating to south coast of Massachusetts from the Boston area in 2012. She continues to take local classes and expand her portfolio.
In her work, Miriam brings a lifelong passion to create. Along with traditional classroom art, Miriam practiced many needlecrafts and completed numerous projects from decorative items to outerwear. She learned the craft of silver smithing and made jewelry with set stones. She created and sold beaded jewelry pieces.
Now, Miriam paints the land, sea and sky around us. She is drawn to the coast and nature. She finds working in the oil medium to capture a moment in time through color, light, texture and reflection is the ultimate challenge and reward in her work.
