Hand-made Handbags Nostalgic, funky and unique; Nancy creates handmade, one of a kind, hand bags from antique cigar labels collaged with vintage floral illustrations. The beautiful color images are layered upon fine art paper that is sandwiched between clear vinyl and then appliqued and top-stitched. Each hand bag and purse is lined with fabric and finished with ribbon trim. Nancy assembles and sews each Blue Maya hand bag, purse, wallet or clutch bag inspired by the illustrations that she works with. The unique aesthetics of her work are achieved by her skillful collaging of early 20th century flora and fauna illustrations along with tobacco industry lithographs. Blue Maya handbags, purses, wallets and clutches are true works of art and assembled and sewn to the highest standards.
