Biography

Diane Rappisi is a painter in the realist tradition. She does commissioned portraits as well as figurative, still life and landscape work. Diane studied in the full-time Professional Program at the innovative Studio Incamminati in Philadelphia, PA, which was founded by renowned artist Nelson Shanks. There she deepened her understanding of color, form and anatomy, and discovered her innate love of figure painting.

Diane comes to the South Coast from southern New Jersey. Her work resides in numerous private and public collections across the country, and selected pieces have been published for the National Park Service in Glen Echo, MD. Diane’s recent honors include the 2009 Connecticut Society of Portrait Artists’ “Faces of Spring” exhibition in Old Lyme, CT (1ST Place award), and the invitational joint exhibition “Merci Beaucoup for Two” in Medford, NJ. She currently teaches figure drawing at the North River Arts Society and exhibits her work at the Kiley Court Gallery in Provincetown, MA.
